When we find what appears to be graphic video evidence of human rights abuses posted online, usually to YouTube, we download them and then re-upload to this blog. This is because when regime hacks find this evidence they will complain to YouTube to have it removed before it can be seen. Even if it is not removed, it may be put behind a block that requires registration and proof of age before it can be viewed which is a great deterrant to those who wish their viewing to remain anonymous.
Another reason is to act as a back-up to preserve the historical record, and in case they are needed for The International Criminal Court. There is also a copy automatically uploaded to Interzone Rebel’s YouTube channel.
Below is the first set of videos that have been downloaded over the past week. Unfortunately with the enormous volume of videos being published to YouTube from Syria lately, we have had trouble keeping up with documenting them. Nonetheless, most are short and speak for themselves and it is probably more important that they are uploaded and visible sooner rather than later. There are warnings placed on the graphic videos. Details will be edited in later in English.
Please keep in mind that these videos are still not appropriate for viewing by children. Most show very violent crimes, terrible wounds, people dying, and people who have died. They can be extremely distressing even for adults.

This is a video of a man who is severely injured and has been left in a backstreet. It appears that the people of the neighbourhood are too afraid to go to his aid.
Massacre in Lattakia
This video has close ups of gunshot wounds.
Shocking video footage has emerged from the Syrian city of Homs in which a young man filming against a background of gunfire in the streets appears to be shot dead in cold blood by the sniper he zooms in on.
A clip circulating on YouTube begins with a male voice describing “someone shooting at citizens in Karm al-Sham on July 1st without any reason and no demonstrations.”
The cameraman is filming from an upper floor against a background of slogans being chanted. Jerky images of the street and balconies are followed by a blurred glimpse of a man in olive green, standing in the shadows, carefully moving forward and raising and firing a weapon – followed by a single shot, moaning, and distraught voices pleading for help.
This copy of the video has English subtitles.
